Hello artists, friends, and community! Liz and I have been busy converting what was formerly known as Estes Lobster House into the brand new Harpswell Collective.
Over the past several months, we’ve been steadily moving forward on our vision to create a vibrant hub for artists, makers, and the community as a whole — and things are taking shape beautifully.
We are getting close to completion on Phase I, the second floor. This space will have 10 dedicated studios (11' x 11'), along with a larger shared collective space for up to 12 more artists to create, collaborate, and build a community with other creators. We think you'll love this space as much as we do - it has wonderful light (both morning and evening light) and stunning water views all around.
To date, our walls up, our electrical roughed out, and we're fully heated and insulated for year-round use! Sheetrock and plumbing for the new bathroom will be completed in the next 3-4 weeks and we hope to be done with painting and finishing touches by mid-March.
We anticipate opening the doors for our artists to begin moving in on April 1st.

Here's a behind the scene peek at our progress so far.
Our Phase II ground floor buildout is also starting to take shape. Walls have come down to make way for a curated gallery, retail and event space showcasing our local makers. We look forward to welcoming the community for exhibitions, seasonal markets, workshops, gatherings, and more.
We’re targeting a June '26 grand opening, when this space will be open to the public.
Finally, we are looking to have up to two food trucks operating onsite during the season. If you know of anyone who has a food truck and needs a space, or if you have an opinion on what types of food you'd like to see, please let us know.
We are very excited to revive this beloved space for our artists and our community, and we look forward to our upcoming adventures.
Andy & Liz
